Reviews that arrive along with the finished gallery

On the day of the shoot nobody has seen a single photo yet. Citypicked sends your request once the gallery is delivered and the excitement is highest.

Did you love your family photos?

RRachel Moore Photography

Hi Ashley, I hope you've had a chance to look through your gallery. Your session was so much fun, and the kids were naturals. If you're happy with your photos, a quick review would mean a lot to me. The stars below take you there. Thank you! Rachel

The right moment

When to ask

01
Shortly after the gallery link
Send the gallery, then add the couple in Citypicked and pick in 2 hours. By then your clients have found their first favorite shots.
02
When the album arrives
With weddings the printed album often comes weeks later. A card with a code in the box makes the most of that second happy moment.
03
After headshots and family sessions
With portraits, clients pick their favorites quickly. Ask as soon as the final files are delivered, ideally the same day.

Review sites

Where your customers review

Google is what people see when they look for a photographer in town. Facebook matters when clients share your photos there, and Thumbtack if you book jobs through it. Wedding directories can be added as a custom link.

Tuck a card with the code in with the prints or the album. Whoever unpacks it and flips through scans with their phone and lands on your review page, with your logo and your colors.

What changes for you

The request looks like your work: Your review page carries your logo and colors, the email your own words. Clients who booked you for your style will recognize it.
Unhappy with the editing? Sort it out: Clients who are unsure about the selection or the retouching write to you privately. Reply by email, offer a fix and mark it Done.
Lots of galleries in the fall: After wedding season you often deliver several galleries a week. Upload your list of couples as a CSV and Citypicked spreads the sending over several hours.

Common questions

I deliver through an online gallery. Can the request go out by itself?

If your gallery or client software works with Zapier, Make or n8n, yes. With the automation link on the Pro plan, the email goes out after delivery by itself, up to 24 hours later if you like. Otherwise just enter name and email by hand.

Asking clients for reviews feels awkward to me.

You ask once, in your own words, right when your clients are excited about their photos. People who do not respond only get the reminders you set up. And once someone unsubscribes, they get no more requests.

Does Citypicked store my photos or galleries?

No. Citypicked stores only the name, email or mobile number, the rating and private feedback. Your photos stay where they are.

Should I send clients to Google or to Thumbtack?

You can switch on both and let the client choose. If only one is on, clients go straight there. If you want new clients in your area to find you, put Google first.

Do texts to customers in the US work right away?

SMS to the US and Canada need a sender number first. We set it up for you; it takes about a week. Email, WhatsApp and QR codes work from the first day.
