When the skin has healed
The aftercare sheet sits in the bathroom next to the ointment for weeks. Once everything has healed, your client scans the code and rates the piece they actually wear.
- 02
At the touch-up
When a client comes in for a touch-up, you look at the healed tattoo together. Send the request right after, while they are happy with the crisp lines.
- 03
Right after a piercing
A piercing looks finished the moment it is done. A second code at the counter catches the client admiring the new jewelry in the mirror.

What changes for you
- Big pieces over many sessions
- A sleeve or back piece takes many sessions. Set the duplicate protection to 90 days, so the client gets one request at most, even if several artists hit send.
- Healed badly? It comes to you first
- If a line faded while healing, the client taps a few stars and tells you privately. Invite them in for a touch-up and sort it out in person.
- Guest artists get their own code
- When a guest artist works with you for a few weeks, give them their own aftercare sheet with their own code. Citypicked counts the scans per code over the last 30 days.

How does the code get onto our aftercare sheet?
Download it as PNG or SVG and place it in your own layout. Or print it at business card size with your logo and hand the card over with the sheet.
Our clients find us on Instagram. Do we even need Google reviews?
Instagram shows your work, but it does not collect reviews. People searching Google Maps for a studio nearby see stars and reviews first. Citypicked sends happy clients right there.
Should we ask after a consultation already?
You can. Keep in mind that by default the same person gets only one request within 30 days. If the tattoo appointment follows soon after, the second one is skipped. The code on the aftercare sheet works regardless.
We also pierce walk-ins. Do they need their own code?
Give the counter code its own label, separate from the aftercare sheets. Analytics then counts scans for piercings and tattoos separately.
Do texts to customers in the US work right away?
SMS to the US and Canada need a sender number first. We set it up for you; it takes about a week. Email, WhatsApp and QR codes work from the first day.
